Vladimir Mikec Miki lives in Vrhnika, Slovenia. He`s a fishing instructor and a guide and was for several years a member of the national fly-fishing team. He`s also an internationally recognized fly tyer as well as a reporter for several fishing newspapers. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of fly tying, fly fishing and the knowledge of the best angler streams of our beautiful country Slovenia. If he can help someone learn more about fly-fishing techniques to catch trout, grayling, pike or Danubien salmon “sulec”, see some beautiful Alpine mountain scenery and have an enjoyable time, then he is satisfied knowing that he has accomplished his goals as a teacher and a guide. Subjects that he covers while teaching are: Aquatic insect identification, Introduction to equipment, terminology of the fly fishing sport, tying of specialized knots that fly fisherman need, basic casting instruction, reading and understanding stream structure, proper fly presentation and fine control, hooking, playing and landing fish, correctly releasing fish, and much, much more.
